DNS Settings

In order to make you new website go live there are two things required.

1)  Add a new domain in the Business Catalyst administrative section.

2)  Point your domain name to Adobe Busines Catalyst

When you redelegate (change the pointer) for your domain name, you are essentially asking the company who registered your domain (such as GoDaddy or register.com) to associate your domain name with new hosting and email services provided by Business Catalyst.

To redelegate a domain, you'll need to visit your registrar's website. Log in to your account and change your name servers to point to the Business Catalyst host settings.

Your registrar — the company that's responsible for your domain records — remains unchanged, and you'll continue paying renewal fees for your domain to that provider. For example, if you purchase a domain name from GoDaddy, you'll log onto their website in order to perform tasks related to domain name relegation (change pointer to Business Catalyst)..

Updating DNS information

Using GoDaddy as an example, log in to their site and and choose Account Manager.  In the account manager choose Nameservers, Set Nameservers.

Choose specific nameservers, then change the Nameservers as specified below

Assign the following DNS information:

ns1.worldsecuresystems.com (192.150.2.143) - primary DNS server

ns2.worldsecuresystems.com (192.150.8.143) - secondary DNS server

ns3.worldsecuresystems.com (202.176.14.140)

Many registrars only offer two fields on their site. If they ask for a third DNS designation, enter the last option shown above.

After submitting this information online, you may need to wait for the changes to propagate before the domain name update become effective. Note: You must redelegate your domain name using the DNS service provided above in order to use the system's email service.

Allowing time for propagation

Once the domain name has been re-delegated to new name servers, it can take up to a maximum of 7 days for this new domain information to update on all relevant DNS servers throughout the world (however usually sites can be seen within 12-48 hours).
